Dear Andre:

My whole group of bear hunters wants me to thank you and the staff, guides, cook, everyone really, for making our hunt the very best it could be. As you know, we harvested five bears for six hunters and if Tom had gun hunted instead of the long bow, it would have been 100%. He chose and missed. Butch wishes he had waited for a little bigger bear than he shot his first night, but as you know, it is very difficult to judge their size. But he did say that it was one of the best vacations he ever had. Those bears sure are impressive to see up close in the wild. I will never forget the face on the one I didn't get an opportunity to shoot. He had a rust colored muzzle and dime sized eyebrows to match. What a head mount he would make. I'm happy with my bear and I think he may have had the best coat of them all.

You may remember that this was my first bear after four other tries in Maine, Quebec, and New Brunswick (2). For one thing, you are absolutely correct that spring is more productive than fall. I've learned that the hard way. Your area is literally teaming with spring bears. Harry and Butch saw one in a tree while taking a walk down your road and I saw two on separate occasions on the road on the way to my stand. But, you need more than location to guarantee a good hunt. Your baits sites are carefully selected and active. I saw that my guide Peter kept careful records of bait activity. The two stands I hunted were sturdy tree stands that I felt safe and concealed in. You have the hunting aspect down to a science. I could see that you can accommodate a variety of hunters, gun/bow, average/big men, etc.

The two guides that I worked with, Peter and Xavier were friendly, courteous, and very knowledgeable woodsmen. They obviously enjoy what they are doing and they know bear hunting. Everyone, including yourself, did everything possible to see that our experience was one to remember for the rest of our lives. We are still talking about the gourmet quality food and the accommodations were very comfortable. You must have more bathrooms per square foot than anyplace I've ever been. Please tell the staff that we were very impressed with them all. You, of course, put this whole superb operation together and actively act as host. You should be very proud.

I certainly hope that I will be able to return to enjoy the inn, perhaps with my wife. I feel guilty having had so much pleasure and great food without her being there to enjoy it too. While I will tell my fellow club members about how great an experience I had, and will put a story and pictures on our website, I almost want to keep it as my secret place.

Please feel free to use this letter as a reference for other sportsmen and they may contact me directly.

Best Regards, John

Hello André

Cathy and I want to thank you for another wonderful week! The cuisine, accommodations, and all of your staff were just great.

I couldn't have been happier with my bear. Although Cathy didn't take a bear this trip, she saw four throughout the week and chose to pass up two good representative bears - she's always wants that big boar like she took at your lodge two years ago.

Anyway, thanks again my friend, looking forward to seeing you next spring and hi to everyone!

Fondest Regards

Larry and Cathy Fultz - PA

Dear André and your wonderful cast of characters that make up your truly great staff.

I just wanted to let you know in print what a wonderful time I had with all of you. It was my 14th trip, 13 for bears. This year’s bear was not the biggest at 240lbs but it had a perfect Miramichi coat and the BIGGEST feet I have ever seen ( that’s about 40 bears over the years).

The food, service, accommodations, desserts, guides, dogs, tree stands, baits and overall ambiance were fabulous and unrivaled. I feel like a friend who has come for a visit.

A very satisfied customer and friend I remain.

Sincerely yours,

Tom Shaw

Hello André,

I hope this note greets you in Good Health and High Spirits. I wanted to write and express what a Great week I had at the Inn. To say that you are an excellent host would be an understatement. Having great food, accommodations and guides truly made my first hunting experience one to remember.

I have talked to Gerry the Taxidermist and am also looking forward to the bear rug he will make for me.

Please reserve the same week for me next year.

Best Regards,
Rob Blake, NH

(Note: *** Rob has been coming to Miramichi Inn for some time now, and it will be his 4th year with us next spring)

Dear John,
My father and myself had a wonderful time. The Miramichi Inn is definitely a first class establishment. The accommodations, food, hunting, fishing, guides, and support staff were top notch. I got my first black bear (with a white "V" on the chest) on my last night of the hunt. I saw bear every night, except one night in which the bear was heard but not seen in the brush. Three of the four hunters were successful in their hunt that week. The spring weather was a little bit late this year which did seem to slow down the bear activity. The Miramichi Inn has plenty of bear stands, thus every week different stands are used so that their success and bear sightings are quite exceptional.  There were also a lot of woodcock this spring and the grouse hunting should be very good as well. If anyone was looking for an excellent place to hunt grouse, woodcock, bear, moose or deer and/or fish on the river, then the Miramichi Inn (a five star resort) is a place that I would recommend based upon my stay there. Andre Godin and his staff are fun to be around and will see that you have a wonderful time.

Thank you again for donating such a wonderful trip!

Sincerely,
Robert Kiefiuk

Andre,

I wanted to drop you a line and let you know Gerry Poirier has sent me my bear mount.
Gerry promised the mount by Christmas but it arrived last week….almost 3 months early.
He is really a very good taxidermist. He does great work and is very quick.
The mount is extremely realistic and well done.

I called Gerry to say thank and I also wanted to express my thanks to you one more time
for a great bear hurt. I have already received many compliments on the bear.

I hope you guys have a great grouse and salmon season this fall. I am looking forward to
bear hunting with you next June.

Best regards,

Jerry Wilder

Andre,

My dad and I want to express our gratitude for such a fabulous bear hunt and wonderful time while at the lodge.
We are looking forward to another great hunt in 2007. You have an excellent staff – extend our thanks to all.
The guides while professional and confident, are especially funny and entertaining.
The food was splendid. Again, many thanks for the wonderful memories and the great time.

I’m sure the rest of the season was as successful as the week we spent in Miramichi. I have a
perfect spot on my wall waiting to be filled with my bear mount. Let us know how the season went…

Best Regards,

Joe Heck

Dear Andre’ and Susan

I would like to thank you, for myself and my wife, for the phenomenal time that we had while at the Miramichi Inn.

The bear hunting was fantastic and I enjoyed immensely getting my first bear. I will be back for a “monster”. But in addition I want to thank you for the beautiful atmosphere,
meals and friendship that we shared together. The accommodations were really excellent and the food was truly out of this world. Patrick is an excellent chef and he and Susan working together produced some excellent meals.

All of the guides were helpful and knowledgeable and worked really hard to guarantee my success.

My wife and I, as we left, felt more like we were leaving friends behind at Miramichi Inn rather than just a place that we visited. Your attention to detail and your thoroughness with every detail really made for a wonderful experience.

I am busy trying to plan for a return trip next year and my wife is really excited at the prospect.

My wife has already written a note to Cathy and expressed her gratitude for the wonderful aromatherapy, reflexology and Reiki sessions. Everything was phenomenal.

Thanks again.

Andre,

Thank you and the folks at Miramichi for the great bear hunt last week.
I enjoyed every aspect of my stay with you. The accommodations were superb. The food was excellent as always. The facilities were neat and well kept.
The guides were attentive, knowledgeable, helpful, and skilled. The woods were full of a variety of game…..deer, moose, bear, grouse.
The overall hospitality was outstanding. You run a first class operation and I look forward to returning next year.

Again, thank you for the wonderful experience.

 Andre,

I thought I would let you know what a wonderful time we had on our May 2000 bear hunt. There was five in camp and all five of us got nice bears.

The food was incredible, your guides are hard working, very knowledgeable and a pleasure to hunt with. You and Susan made us feel right at home in the lodge, which is second to none.

This was our second hunt with you and we hope there will be many more.
Thanks again, your friends from North and South Carolina

Andre,

I want to thank your for a fabulous week. This bear trip was to be a high school graduation present for my son and it could not have been a better present. We had a fabulous time. After we got our bears we spent two nights videotaping. Over all – I saw 17 bears and my son saw 15. It was a quality hunt. You and your guides really know your bears. The food was fantastic (I think I gained 10 pounds). Nothing could have been better. Thanks.

Thanks. tgk
