The Spring Season runs from April 15th to the end of June, but we start taking hunters around May 10th only, as in the springtime, it takes some time to get the bears accustomed to eating again, following their long winter fast. The Fall Season runs in two stages. In September, there is an approximately two week archery only season. During the month of October, you can hunt bear with long guns. Check with us for exact dates. A combination Black Bear, Upland Shooting and White tail Deer hunt can be done the last week of October.

We can almost guarantee you a Black Bear, based on experience from past hunts. Whether you choose to hunt using Bow, Black Powder or Rifle, we will set up your hunt geared to your specific needs. Our guides are experienced and professional, and will teach you the proper (and successful) way to hunt Black Bear. Every morning, during your stay here, you will accompany them on their daily routine of baiting and choosing the proper stand for you. Proper care will be taken in getting your trophy ready for the taxidermist. Join the rest of our successful hunters and come on up for the hunt of a lifetime.

Our lodge can accommodate up to twelve hunters or fishermen at any given time, but we limit ourselves to about 30 hunters a season for Black Bear. NOTE: Between May 10th and May 15th, we offer a combination "Spring Salmon/Black Bear" package. Also, between June 15th and June 30th, a "Bright Salmon/Black Bear" package is available.

John Darney of Pine Bush, New York, USA took one of our biggest bears ever this spring, a 394 pound monster! John says "You will definitely see bears at Miramichi. You must decide what size meets your objective for a sucessful hunt. Learn to judge size and pass on small bears. To bag a big one takes patience, luck, and skill. You must be well camouflaged and quiet. The bear's vision seems poor but he will see movement. His hearing is great. And his nose is better than a blood hound.
